About Me

Hi, I hope you are well

I'm Jesus Benito. I'm originally from Madrid (Spain), but I have been living in London (UK) for the last 8 years.

Currently, I'm in the middle of a cycling tour around the world, which started in July 2020 from London, taking us through Scandinavia and down to Latvia, where I'm based at the moment until the situation with the coronavirus improves.

My motivation to learn the Latvian language is my wife and her family, whom I cannot communicate with. Also to be able to talk safely to people here in the village, as most of them speak just a little English. My goal on that is to be able to maintain a short conversation with people in the Latvian language

During my time in London, I used to work with adults with Autism and Asperger syndrome for a national organization. For the last 3 years, I managed a centre of autism and coordinated a nice project that helped adults with Asperger syndrome offering counselling.

I studied Psychology in Madrid, where I also started my journey working with people with autism, discovering my passion for that mind. Also worked volunteering in a project about domestic violence.

I like photography, people, and love the outdoors. Although I like people, I don't consider myself an extrovert person. It takes me a while to get confident with someone new! I guess not your typical Spanish... :) Sometimes I like to have my personal space

I hope you have enough information about me. If there is anything specific you would like to know, do not hesitate to ask!
