Interests and Hobbies 
Hello!
I am Vija Mežīte- a teacher of English, German and Latvian (to foreigners). My working experience is for 30 years. I have been teaching kids, teenagers and adults of different backgrounds, language experience and profession. I love my job so much!
First of all, I listen to the student`s needs and situation by trying to understand him/her. Then we decide how we are going to gain the aim. Finally, I encourage the student to start not being afraid of mistakes.
I teach everything- all language skills including speaking, listening, writing, grammar paying attention to what is more necessary to the student.
To my mind, both the teacher and the very student are responsible for the result. My materials include books, self-made materials and the ones taken from internet resources. In some cases student`s own materials are used if it is agreed by the student.
Speaking about my methods and tools, I must admit that after the first lesson it is already clear what to do and how. As everybody is an individual, methods and tools are adapted to the very person.
Students` progress and success- in others words- the result motivates me as a professional.
It is so nice to get to know different kinds of people because they all make me grow and develop as well. My travel experience and participation in projects help me understand people better and use strategies taken from others, too.

Vēlos pateikties Vijai Mežītei par latviešu valodas zināšanas iemaņu uzlabojumu. Manas valodas pramses bija pamatlīmenī, bet, pateicoties Vijai, uzlaboju savas zināšanas un, galvenais, izpratni par valodas gramatikas īpatnībām. Ir patīkami, ja skolotājs ne tikai lasa lekcijas, bet cenšas atrast tavas vājās vietas un palīdz tev pilnveidoties. Vijai ir liela pieredze un pieejams interesants materiāls pašizglītībai.

My trial lesson with Vija was very satisfying and informative. She has given me the confidence and clear goals to work towards. Vija also advised on which books and materials to work with and also offered the option to work with my own books if I wanted. It was clear to me that Vija got a good understanding of my goals, and I will look forward to achieving them with her.
